No Changes to Airprint in iOS 5

With Apple’s recent unveiling of the new operating system for iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches, there is no sign of any change in terms of the list of printers with Airprint support.  In other words, when iOS 5 is released in fall 2011, Airprint will continue to work only with a select number of HP printers.  Currently, there are 25 HP printers that are Airprint compatible, although they are adding new printers with Airprint built-in all the time.

Airprint is Apple’s technology that allows a user to print automatically from their iOS device to a supported printer.  It requires no extra downloads, installations or other configuration; rather, it just works out of the box.

An Airprint printer buyers guide. Which Airprint Printer is best for your iPad printing?

Which printer is best for you if you want to print from your iPad?

To answer this question, first you have to choose between two possible solutions:

  1. You can install a third party app on the iPad and use it with the printer of your choice.  Click here for the best apps for printing from iPad.  Not all printers will work, however, if you go with an app such as Printer Pro for iPad, you can check first to see whether it works by trying the Lite version of the app before purchasing.
